Journalist - WegSleep - Media24

WegSleep, Media 24's caravanning and camping magazine, has a vacancy for an experienced journalist in its Cape Town Office.

Responsibilities include the following:

• The conceptualisation, planning and writing of caravanning and camping articles.
• Managing the editorial workflow of the monthly production process.
• Taking photographs to illustrate articles
• The attendance of readers' rallies

The ideal candidate should comply with the following requirements:

• Exceptional writing ability
• Newsroom experience and/or a tertiary qualification in journalism
• The ability to research and edit stories
• Careful planner and systematic worker
• Comfortable working in a demanding environment under regular deadline pressure
• Available for regular travel
• Driver's license (An EB-license which allows towing of caravans and trailers is a definite advantage)
• He or she should be able to work independently but also be a team player
• Experience in photography would be a distinct advantage
• Bilingualism in Afrikaans and English would be also be an advantage

The company offers a market-related salary including a 13th cheque, medical aid and membership of a retirement fund. The position will be in Cape Town.
