Job Vacancy: Writer at Jincom Publishing (South Africa)

Jincom Publishing is a communication specialist for semi-literate audiences so you need to be able to write clear, simple and yet technically correct copy for a variety of industries and target audiences. The company produces work for local and international audiences. You will be expected to write, among other things, comic and animation scripts so will need to be able to visualise/conceptualise a variety of scenarios.

WRITER
  • Remuneration: R8000 - R10000 per month negotiable basic salary
  • City: Stellenbosch
  • Education level: Diploma
  • Job level: Junior/Mid
  • Type: Permanent
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • interpret briefs to write content for various materials;
  • writing of scripts (for comics, animations etc), manuals (technical or general), any other copy required;
  • liaise with creative director and design and illustration heads to ensure the right message is communicated;
  • checking of copy in all materials;
  • assist in management of translations.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • excellent writing skills;
  • excellent proofing/copy-editing skills;
  • ability to conceptualise/visualise;
  • ability to simplify complicated text/technical terminology (less is more in our game);
  • wide general knowledge and willingness to learn about any topic;
  • good research skills.
