Call for Essays for an Anthology Celebrating Nigeria's Centenary

Deadline: 31 May 2013

Sympt Light Services in collaboration with the Niger State Book and Research Development Agency is calling for essays on Nigeria, as we celebrate hundred years of Nigeria’s creation, in 1914. The book is to commemorate the centenary anniversary celebration and afford young Nigerians the opportunity to document whatever views they might have of Nigeria as a nation for the next generation. Contributors have the liberty to write on anything that tickles them or those they may be passionate about. All essays must be intellectual based and must be critical to the Nigerian struggle. Essays must be well written and selected topics articulated with uttermost seriousness.

Contributors can only send in one essay of a maximum of one thousand words, and must be in Microsoft word format (as attachment) for easy retrieval, to avoid unwanted adjustment. Contributors must ensure that essays are well typed, edited and presentable. Contributors must be within the ages of 18 to 35 years. The age restriction is because the opinions sought are of fresh and young Nigerians who still brim with hope, strength and the potentials to inspire the next generation. Contributors will receive two copies of the published work and will be duly recognised. Therefore, contributors are to send a brief profile of themselves along with their essays to symptlightservices@gmail.com or symptlightservices@yahoo.com.

A grand public presentation of the book will be held in Minna, later in the year.
