Moneyweb is looking for an editor for CitiBusiness, the financial and business section of the Citizen newspaper. The successful candidate will form part of the Moneyweb production team.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

• Edit all content for CitiBusiness to ensure that it is devoid of any defamation or slander and adheres to the highest journalism standards;
• Ensure an acceptable presentation of business content published in CitiBusiness. This includes overseeing the production of, and final signoff on all pages submitted to the Citizen;
• The management of the relationship between the Citizen and Moneyweb;
• Assist with the production and editorial administration of the various Moneyweb digital properties;
• The conceptualisation and actual writing of articles for the various Moneyweb platforms;
• Assist with training of junior reporters; and
• Other tasks the editor may ask the successful candidate to perform.

The candidate must have the following skills and education:

•  A minimum of a bachelor’s degree;
• At least 5 years experience in print media;
• At least 3 years experience at a daily financial publication or supplement;
• Any digital or radio journalism experience would be beneficial.
• Any experience in a sub office would also be hugely beneficial;
• Must be available to work long hours and over weekends.
