Job Opening: Content Editor via Quest (South Africa)

Location: Cape Town North

Offer: R320 per annum CTC

Introduction

Reporting to the Portal Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for the coherant messaging of all the online portals as well as the social media sites. This includes the procurement and management of content from third parties.

Minimum Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification is essential
  • Proficiency in English and Afrikaans as well as African languages
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of online writing experience
  • Practical experience with DotNetNuke or an open source CMS is required
  • Expert knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Practical working knowledge of XML, XSLT will be advantageous
  • Effective communication skills
  • Excellent language and proven writing skills
  • Logical thinking
  • Team player and independant worker
  • Analytical, objective
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent knowledge of Media and Compliance laws
  • Content sourcing and contract negotiation

Job Specification

  • Managing and mentoring the portal editor
  • Contribute to newsletter development
  • Liaise with marketing and product owners to position the products in the most effective way
  • Copy and Editing on new and existing online channels
  • Improve usability and content on the site
  • Needs to be available out of normal working hours if required
