- Compile and present Afrikaans news bulletins
- Sub edit reporters' work
- Delegate assignments to reporting pool
- Supervise, train and develop reporters
- Close co-operation and co-ordination with Johannesburg bureau and programming departments
- Set a comprehensive news diary and follow up on the diary
- Ensure the generation of sufficient Afrikaans content
- Provide a detailed handover to AM shift
- Fielding and dealing with listener queries and complaints
- Reportage - where necessary
Requirements
- Computer literate
- Fluent in Afrikaans (reading and writing)
- Bilingual candidates will be a plus
- At least five years' experience in journalism (preferably radio)
- Good understanding of the Western Cape landscape
- Good understanding of general current affairs
