In 2010, we saw an exciting variety of creative writing submitted to the Community Blog. We watched many of you grow as writers, and feature again and again. It is obvious that Kenya’s literary scene has great potential for excellence and amazing creativity.
One category of writing that has caught our attention is Kenyan Urban Narratives, stories about ordinary Kenyans in extraordinary circumstances set in our beloved urban settlements and cities. We would like to see more of these stories, and so we have set aside a section of the community blog dedicated to exploring this category of writing.
Would you like your urban story to feature on the Storymoja blog on Monday 10th January 2011? Please send it in by Sunday 9th January 2011 at 4pm to blogs@storymojaafrica.co.ke.
PLEASE NOTE: Storymoja will NOT accept submissions of adult book manuscripts from January until October 2011. We will, however, continue to review and respond to manuscripts submitted before January 2011.
Please note that we will continue to accept submissions of children’s books. Please review our guidelines for the kinds of children’s books we are interested in publishing before you submit.
We appreciate all the writers who have approached us with manuscripts and urge you to continue writing. Please continue to submit shorter pieces to our blog: http://storymojaafrica.wordpress.com/
