Job Opening: Reporter/ Editor/ Proofreader for a Publishing Company (Nigeria)

A Leading Law Firm/Publishing Company, with presence pan Nigeria, seek to recruit Exceptional and Result Driven Professionals to fill the positions below:

Position: Reporters/Editors (Internal or External)

The successful Applicants will be responsible for

* Preparing rewriting and editing copy to improve readability
* Read copy or proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax
* Allocate print space to space parameters and copy significance, using knowledge of Layout principles
* Plan the contents of publications according to the publication’s style and Publishing requirements
* Verify facts, dates and statistics, using standard reference sources
* Review and approve proofs submitted by composing room prior to publication production
* Oversee Publication Production and ensure adherence to deadlines
* Read, Evaluate and Edit manuscripts or other materials submitted for Publication
* Read material to determine index items and arrange them alphabetically.

Essential Requirements

* Candidate must possess a degree in Law (LL.B, B.L)
* Good knowledge of the structure (Rules of composition and Grammer) of the English Language
* Experience in a Law Publishing Firm.

Position: Proof Readers (Internal Vacancies only)

The successful Applicants will be responsible for Reading typescript (original copy) to detect and mark for correction any grammatical, typographical, or compositional errors.

Essential Requirements for the Role

* Candidate must possess a degree in Law (LL.B)
* Advanced knowledge of the English Language
* Experience in a Law Publishing firm will be an added Advantage.

Location: Lagos and Abuja

Status: Permanent (Part-Time for the External Editors)
