Job Opening: Educational Webmaster for M & G Media (South Africa)

Job Title Educational Webmaster

Vacancy location: South Africa, Gauteng, Johannesburg North

Work experience: 2+ to 5 Years

MAIN PURPOSE: To maintain, develop and write for the M&G education website

KEY OUTPUTS

• Write daily breaking education news reports as well as select, edit and publish quality, up-todate daily education news reports sourced from M&G journalists and agencies, as well as indepth comment, features, and multimedia, including blogs, photographs, and mobile content.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Thorough understanding of how multi-media and multi-platform news media works.
• Appropriate post-matric qualification or equivalent.
• At least three years’ experience with major online news property.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• Must be willing to travel.
• An interest in education journalism.

KNOWLEDGE

• Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop; HTML and web platforms
• Familiarity with website development environment
• Good understanding of essential computing principles

SKILLS

• Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
• Flexible at working with various technologies
• An excellent command of English
• Running websites
• Advanced communication skills (written & verbal)
• Intermediate administrative skills
• Organisational skills

BEHAVIOURAL / ATTRIBUTES

• Self-motivated, positive and proactive person
• Willing to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment.
• Highly motivated.
• Should have an interest in working in content publishing for an online media company
• Team player

The appointment will be done in line with the M & G Media Ltd. Employment Equity Policy
and the remuneration will commensurate with the position.
