City Press has a vacancy for a senior sports reporter at its Johannesburg offices. The successful candidate will report to the sports editor. This is a position for a senior reporter with in-depth knowledge of soccer and other sports.
Responsibilities include:
* Reporting and writing articles on sporting events
* Writing of in-depth and investigative and feature sports articles
* Building of extensive contacts in the sports communities in City Press’s distribution area.
* Networking with the public and sport personalities
* Liaising with photographers
Requirements:
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- Diploma or degree in Journalism
- The ideal candidate is a trained journalist with a particular interest in sports in general and specialist knowledge of soccer and other sports
- The candidate has a good news sense
- He/she is motivated, shows initiative and can work independently
- A valid driver's licence is a prerequisite.
