Job Opening: Entertainment Editor for Drum Magazine (Media 24, South Africa)

City: Sandton

DRUM magazine requires an entertainment editor based in the magazine's Sandton office.

The ideal candidate

-Has excellent command of written and spoken English
-Has at least three years' experience as a writer/reporter for newspapers/magazines and can show a portfolio of original published writing, preferably with a celebrity/showbusiness focus
-Has an informed interest in the global world of entertainment and showbusiness, particularly but not exclusively film and TV, and the celebrities who people it
-Is a self-starter who without supervision can regularly produce pertinent, entertaining and informative ideas and creative reports and features on a variety of celebrity-focused and human-interest subjects
-Interacts easily and comfortably with people at all levels
-Can meet the constantly demanding deadlines of a weekly magazine
-Is prepared to work irregular hours and attend after-hours functions
-Is able to fit comfortably in an editorial team in a busy publishing environment.
