Tonight has a vacancy based in Cape Town for an Entertainment Reporter
Qualifications & Experience:
* A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in journalism
* At least three years entertainment/news gathering & reporting
* Displays an understanding of what comprises of regional entertainment news as well as national entertainment issues
* Working knowledge of Tonight or a similar publication
* Keen entertainment news sense to initiate stories
* Knowledge of performing arts and film would be advantageous
Duties:
* Generating national and regional story ideas
* Writing national and regional copy
* Keeping the national editor & senior journalist abreast of all entertainment developments in your region
* Meeting deadlines for regional and national content
* Attending editorial meetings when required
* Standing in for the senior journalist where necessary
Skills, Knowledge & Attributes:
* Ability to use initiative
* Team player
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work accurately under extreme pressure to deadline
* Tenacity & Drive
