Reporting to the Group Head: eNews Division your key performance areas will include:
* Sub news scripts, boards and crawlers
* Liaise with reporter's to refine story angles and content
* Assist Output Editors in checking content in bulletin rundowns
* Write and voice local and international stories
* Script headlines and promos
* Liaise with the bulletin producers, video editors and technical operations
* Write local stories
* Re-angle stories on an hourly basis
* Refresh stories
* Check wire services and news feeds for breaking news
* Help to decide how best to visually illustrate stories
* Stand-in as Bulletin Producer or Output Editor when the situation requires it
Requirements
* More than four years journalistic experience, preferably in broadcasting
* Excellent command of the English language
* Excellent writing skills
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Good editorial judgment and interpretational skills
* Ability to voice news inserts a distinct advantage
* Ability to work under pressure making deadlines
Note:
* The successful candidate will be required to work irregular and long hours, including weekends, public holidays and standby shifts.
