Journalist Wanted for a Community Newspaper (Tabloid Media, South Africa)

A Vacancy exists at a community newspaper for a Junior Journalist.

Responsibilities:

You will undertake an array of editorial tasks and news reporting responsibilities for our
publications. These editorial tasks include interviewing, writing, editing, copy-editing,
proof reading i.e. articles and press releases.
  • Being involved in the reporting of daily news
  • Writing for a Community-oriented newspaper publication
  • Arranging and conducting interviews, as well as attending media functions and press-related
  • events
  • Developing creative editorial news and story ideas for the newspaper
Requirements:
  • Degree in Journalism or Related Disciplines
  • Driver's licence
  • Required language(s): English
  • At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the newspaper or news broadcast industry.
  • Proficiency in English is a must, and be computer and internet literate
  • Able to work within a deadline driven environment
  • Good research, interviwing, reporting, and writing skills
  • You must be a self-starter with a strong passion for a long-term career in editorial and /or journalism field
Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply. Full-Time positions available.
