Job Opening: Writer - Comic/ Animated TV for Strika Entertainment (South Africa)

STRIKA produces a broad range of entertainment and communications titles including SUPA STRIKAS, a comic and animated television series available in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and South East Asia.

The product requires a writer for the following responsibilities:

1) Quality Control of all written work
2) Story and script writing
3) Repurposing comic content for syndication
4) Working on broad range of associated products
5) Other content creation within organization: web, blog, mobile, advertising, etc

Following skills are essential:

6) Comfortable with a range of writing types (from story and script to copywriting)
7) A good understanding of narrative structure, character, dialogue
8) High level of visual literacy is essential (grammar and spelling are taken for granted)!
9) Good interpersonal and workshopping skills
10) Meticulous attention to detail and thoroughness
11) Preferably some tertiary writing qualification but not essential
12) Knowledge of soccer / cricket and in touch with popular culture
