Freelance Writers/ Journalists Wanted for Doha Centre for Media Freedom (rate: $200-$300 per piece) - North Africa

The Doha Centre for Media Freedom is looking for freelance writers to cover press freedom and media issues in South and Central Asia, Asia Pacific and the Middle East and North Africa. The Centre is a non-profit organization and its website, www.dc4mf.org, aims to become a source of information for anyone interested in media freedom and analysis about how stories are being told.

The pieces we are looking for can be on political or economic restrictions on media freedom, but also any other kind of obstacles that journalists face in their everyday work, including safety issues or self-censorship. We're also looking forward to portraying journalists who have a compelling personal story to tell for our “Journalist Spotlight” section.

The Centre pays between $200 and $350 per piece, depending on the amount of original content and research. If you wish to submit any story ideas for publication, please send them to stephanie@dc4mf.org and editor@dc4mf.org . Your story pitch should include a concise description of the topic, your angle and the sources that will be used.
