Job Opening: Beauty Editor for Rooi Rose (Caxton Magazines, South Africa)

The beauty editor is responsible for all the beauty related content in rooi rose. This includes the writing of articles as well as organising, styling and producing the articles. As well as additional beauty articles for the bumper May and October issues with the fashion and beauty supplements. The beauty editor will travel regularly and must be available to attend product launches and industry related events in and out of office hours. The successful candidate must be happy to work as part of a team to deliver strong creative input suitable to rooi rose as the biggest Afrikaans all-in-one women's magazine.

Requirements

• A minimum of five years' experience in the industry
• Strong organisational skills for the planning of articles and handling of deadlines.
• Strong styling skills for planning of shoots and working with models and photographers.
• Strong writing skills to write the beauty articles for the magazine as well as website and other online requirements.
• A keen knowledge and interest in the technological and scientific developments in the beauty and wellness fields.
• A passion to keep our readers up to date and interested in beauty.
• Good contacts and established relationships in the beauty industry.
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office and InDesign

Personal Skills/Attributes

• Must enjoy working in close contact with other people. Must be team-oriented and establish and maintain good relationships with the editor, editorial team, advertising team and clients.
• Must be able to work under time constraints to meet deadlines on time.
• Must be able to conceptualise innovative angles and visual aspects for beauty articles.
