Responsibilities:
• Lead the team of writing and production journalists responsible for the profitable publication of Sake24
• Edit an authoritative business publication that will earn the respect of readers, the business community and advertisers
• Develop and implement a content strategy that will increase the readership (AMPS) of Sake24 across all platforms and increase advertising revenue
• Determine the approach and tone of Sake24, calibrated towards the publication's unique target audience
• Recruit the best available journalistic talent for Sake24
• Identify relevant news themes, fresh angles and opportunities to generate exclusive news for Sake24
• Identify and appoint authoritative and stimulating columnists that will enhance the readability and standing of Sake24
Requirements:
• Extended and applicable journalistic experience, especially in business journalism
• Ability to lead, inspire and manage a team of creative journalists
• In-depth knowledge of the local and international business environment
• Access to important role players in the private and public sector
• Experience in presentation and lay-out of news in print and digital platforms
• Well-versed in the local and international political economy
• Be able to write accessibly and with flair in Afrikaans
• Be able to represent Sake24 in public
• Applicable post-matric qualification
