Job Opening: Staff Writer for Cape Town Partnership

The Cape Town Partnership is a collaboration between the public and private sectors working together to develop, promote and manage Cape Town Central City. The Partnership was formed to address issues of urban degeneration and disinvestment in the Central City and related social problems.

We're looking for a versatile, high-level WRITER who is able to:
  • Write engaging, relevant content that advocates for the Cape Town Partnership's vision and goals.
  • Tell a story in a range of media, from a 1500-word op-ed to a 140 character tweet, a PowerPoint presentation to a blog.
  • Research, edit, proofread and fact check their own work.
  • Solve problems and manage their own time, especially under tight deadlines.
  • Pitch features ideas and actively seek out stories.
  • Understand that briefs evolve and be comfortable juggling numerous projects.
  • Care more about the story and telling it well than seeing their name in lights.

Requirements
  • Writing for our monthly community newspaper and various websites, eNewsletters, Campaigns and presentations;
  • Editing;
  • Proofreading;
  • Research
