The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN) was established in 1968. The cradle of the Institute was the department of Management Studies, Yaba College of Technology, Yaba. It started as the Personnel Management Association of Nigeria and in 1973, it was renamed and has since taken on the current name.
The Institute hereby announces its 2012 Annual Essay competition. This is an opportunity for interested undergraduates in the Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics to bring to fore, their abilities to carry out research on burning issues in both Nigeria and global economy.
Note: Essay must be original, empirical and meet the standards for publication in the local and international journals. All entries should be typed in double line spacing, not more than 10 pages of A4 paper or 3000 words. Font type – Times New Roman with 12 points font size, citation of sources must be made, in text and work cited must appear at the end of the essay, plagiarism in all forms is prohibited and will attract outright disqualification of indicted entries.
TOPIC: Employment Generation and Expansion: A Panacea for Security Challenge in Nigeria.
- 1st Prize – N125,000.00, publication in the Institute’s HRM journal and 2 HRM books.
- 2nd Prize- N100,000.00, 2 HRM books.
- 3rd Prize- N75,000.00, 2 HRM books.
Employment Opportunity/prospect for the first prize winner.

All expense paid trip to Abuja for CIPM 2012 National conference.

METHOD OF PARTICIPATION
Interested persons must be UNDERGRADUATES of Universities and Polytechnics and should send their ‘spiral bound’ papers on or before July 6, 2012 With scanned copies of the following documents:
- Reference letter from the Registrar of their Institute
- Photocopy of admission letter to their current institute
- One recent passport photograph.
- Current mobile number and email address.
