Job Opening: Journalist for TVplus (South Africa)

TVplus has a vacancy in its Sandton office for a journalist. The successful candidate will be expected to conceptualise and write feature articles for the tvplus market. This will include articles which are soapie related, TV related and entertainment related.

The ideal candidate should:

- have at least two - three years' experience with a diploma or degree in journalism;
- have a good understanding of the tvplus reader and our editorial pages;
- Investigate and research article content for entertainment feature stories;
- generate feature ideas;
- adhere to the quality, style and content standards as laid out and required by tvplus;
- comply with the requirements of the South African Press Code;
- proofread articles;
- have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- may be required to take photographs;
- may be required to attend events and represent tvplus at industry functions;
- may be required to produce content for online and other social platforms ;
- have good contacts in the local entertainment industry;
- have excellent planning and organisational skills;
- have the ability to keep a cool head under pressure and meet deadlines;
- be passionate about TV and entertainment; and
- have a valid driver's licence.
