Opens July 2 | The FinWrite Conference 2012 for Financial Journalists (South Africa)

Wits Journalism will repeat the successful two-day workshop for financial journalists, which was held last year. The workshop is to improve the knowledge base and skills of working financial journalists.

Speakers last year were drawn from politics, government, regulators, state enterprises and private business. Leading financial journalists also gave presentations.

Our aim is to invite different speakers to last year and to cover new material. Topics intended to be covered will include competition economics, the National Development Plan, economic policy, the regulation of the financial sector, the European crisis, South Africa and the continent, China and Africa, resource taxes, corruption, statistics, state enterprises, governance and social responsibility.

The workshop will be held on July 2 and 3 at the Professional Development Hub on the University of the Witwatersrand campus,corner of Empire and Jan Smuts.

Cost: R1200 for both days including lunches and refreshments.
