• Black History and Free Black Communities, Civil Rights Movement, Black Immigrants
• Black History and Medicine and Science, Health and Disease
• Black History and Inventions and Patents, Black Women Self-Help Movements
• Black History and Music, Television, Movies, Radio, Sports
• Black History and Black Entrepreneurship, Black Political Participation
• Black History and Pan-Africanism, Migration, Reconstruction Era, Jim and Jane Crow Era
• Black History and the Great Depression, 20th Century Military Involvement
• Black History and the Courts, Criminal Justice System
• Topics in Black History (not listed above); Sociology; Race and Ethnic Studies; Post Racial Society
If you have a relevant manuscript or book prospectus that you would like considered for the series, please contact Marsha J. Tyson Darling, PhD. Be sure your submission includes your name, title, institutional affiliation, mailing address, and the following; 1) a Book Prospectus in which you describe the rationale and significance of the work in 4-7 pages; also, provide a brief description of the book’s scope and focus, its distinctive features, projected length, word-count/number of pages; competition and market considerations, audience; and degree of completion of the book and time-line; 2) a Table of Contents; 3) 2-4 Sample Chapters; and, 4) current CV for author/editor.
