Call For Papers for Amantle: A Collection of Critical Writing on Botswana Literature In English

Deadline: 30 December 2012

Amantle is a Setswana historical and philosophical concept that values democratic expression. It comes from the proverb “mafoko a kgotla a mantle otlhe”, it literally means that all words spoken in the ‘village round’ are beautiful, and, therefore acceptable.

The Petlo Literary Arts Trust invite:
  • Literary Essays on Aspects of Botswana Literature
  • Critical and Creative Responses to Botswana Literature
  • Autobiographies/Biographies on Literary Experiences
  • Commentary on Literature/ Writings set in Botswana
  • Reviews of Botswana Literature in English
  • Notes and Reports from Workshops and Conferences
  • Dissertations and Long Essays from scholars of Botswana Literature
  • Works in Progress
  • Translations of Important Literary Pieces from any Botswana Language.
  • Interviews with Writers from Botswana
  • Creative/ Critical journalistic Pieces on Botswana, or about her literature.
  • Creative Non-Fiction

Submissions are to be edited and compiled in a book of the same title.
