Exclusively for secondary school students who are resident in Nigeria, the 2nd Dickens Sanomi National essay Writing Competition has been announced. The essays are in 2 categories of Junior and Senior Secondary Classes.
For Junior Secondary the topic is "Role of parents in determining the choice of career for children".
For Senior Secondary Students, the topic is "Proper career choices amongst our youths and its impact on the nigerian society".
The closing date is 10th July, 2012. Interested students should send typed essays between 300-500 words of font size 13 through e-mail to lifelinecare@gmail.com stating name, age, phone number, class, name/location of school and email address where available.
The Essay is an initiative of the Lifeline Care Association in collaboration with The Sir Dickens Sanomi Foundation. Shortlisted entries would get appreciation prizes while winning essays will attract scholarship prizes for the first 3 students and their school. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in the junior category will win N300,000, N200,000 and N100,000 respectively while the schools will win N250,000, N150,000 and N100,000 respectively.
In the senior category the prize for students are N400,000, N300,000 and N150,000 respectively. The schools would win N250,000, N150,000 and N100,000 respectively. Winners would be presented to the public on 20th September, 2012 in Abuja and awarded the scholarships.
