Call for Papers: Contrary Instincts for Black Women Poets (NeMLA Convention roundtable | Massachusetts)

This roundtable explores how creative and critical processes inform one another in the context of black women’s poetry. A range of approaches are welcome with interest in: participants’ challenges in balancing creative and critical writing; the theoretical underpinnings of their creative work and connections with critical approaches to literature; and readings of original poems. Send 300-word proposals and a writing sample (2-3 poems) to Tiffany Austin, taustin2@slu.edu or Destiny Birdsong, destiny.o.birdsong@vanderbilt.edu
