Freelance Writer Wanted for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (honorarium: $250 per op ed | US)

The NAACP Economic Department is looking for an experienced writer to draft weekly editorials/articles on behalf of the NAACP. The writing would cover a variety of economic issues and financial education solutions, with a focus on how they impact the African American community.

Job Responsibilities: The writer is responsible for synthesizing complex economic issues into a weekly 600 word op-ed for African American audiences.

Qualifications
  • Excellent writing skills;
  • Ability to write about any topic;
  • Experience in conducting interviews;
  • Excellent listening skills;
  • Ability to duplicate a writing style of other authors;
  • Exceptional research, organizing and editing skills; &
  • Excellent communications skills
Writing Samples: Please submit at least 2 writing samples – a writing sample in an editorial form and a writing sample in a news article format.

Salary: $250.00 per op ed.
