The Festival is a four day celebration of stories, ideas, writing and contemporary culture through storytelling, books, live discussion forums, workshops, debates, live performances, competitions, mchongoano and music. It is organized in collaboration with Storymoja, the Hay Festival (UK) and British Council. The Hay Festival held in the UK every May attracts up to 150,000 people ranging from presidents to authors to fans.

The 2012 Storymoja Hay Festival will be held on the 13th to 16th September. Come stroke your biggest er0genous zone over three days of uncensored, engaging stimulation.
There will be over 60 events in 4 days of diversity and brilliance. Meet with the brightest thinkers from home and abroad; literature, technology, innovation, self-development, wealth creation, art, music, and of course food and drinks.

- Slam Poetry night hosted by American poet and writer Beth Lisick, who just so happens to be a National Slam champion; featuring the very best Kenyan slam poets. Ksh 200/=
- Sunday 18th September 6:00pm – 7:30pm
- This one is definitely not for the children. Beth Lisick, Arline Klatte, Nick Hennessey, Ogutu Muraya, Jane Bussman and many more tell stories that will make you blush..and not just from the heat of the fire. Ksh 1000/=
