Opportunity for Ghanaian Playwrights: Call for Plays for New York Production

Deadline: 20 September 2012

The Accra Theatre Directory is looking for playwrights who are interested in having their work produced in New York City.

Plays must be no more than 15 pages long, preferably 2-4 characters, with minimal props and costuming.

Producers are looking for strong characters and interesting, relevant plots. All plays must be set in Ghana or pertain to the Ghanaian experience.

Scripts should be assembled as follows:
  • Title page with play title, author's name, address, phone number and email address
  • Second page with character list and information on setting (time and place), any special notes on production
  • Third page should be first page of script
All playwrights permit Ingenue Theatre to produce their entry play if the company should wish to do so. Playwrights retain copyright and full ownership of their plays.

Scripts must be submitted electronically by September 20th to info@summershakespearegh.com with the title line "ATD Play Submission"

Four plays will be selected to be produced as part of Ingenue Theatre's international 10-20 minute play series.
