MampoerShorts are mini-books. Short enough to read in a sitting, long enough to tell the whole story. Shorter than a novel, longer than a magazine article. Long enough to satisfy, short enough to grip your attention.
HOW BIG IS A MAMPOERSHORT? They say that size doesn't count. But good writers can achieve so much more richness and depth, exploring a topic over ten or twelve thousand words, than they can in a newspaper or magazine article. And because MampoerShorts can be written more quickly than books, our authors are able to respond more immediately to current events. South Africa has so many exciting stories waiting to be told. MampoerShorts will do that.
WHO ARE WE? Mampoer was started by some established names in media, books and journalism: Anton Harber and Irwin Manoim (founding editors of the Weekly Mail, now The Mail & Guardian), Fred Withers (former CEO of Exclusive Books), Antony Altbeker (author of three best-selling books of non-fiction) and Noko Makgato (MD of web development company Big Media).
DO YOU HAVE GREAT IDEAS FOR MAMPOERSHORTS? We are always looking for great writers and great stories. If you think you have a story to tell and the talent to tell it, we'd be delighted to hear from you. If you have a pitch, a fully-drafted story or just a half-baked idea, send it to Liana Meadon.
