Job Vacancy: Celebrity/ Entertainment Reporter for Sunday Sun (Johannesburg, South Africa)

Sunday Sun is looking for a dynamic and well-informed celebrity/entertainment reporter at its Auckland Park office. The ideal candidate must have a thorough understanding of the entertainment industry and must be a celebrity news junkie who reads widely and will stop at nothing to pursue a story; can easily spot a news angle and has the ability to initiate strong, breaking stories.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:
  • Writing informed and breaking stories on celebrities and general news
  • Staying informed of local celebrity news and diligently covering events
  • Investigating and breaking exclusive stories for Sunday Sun on a regular basis
  • Developing and maintaining a solid network of contacts in the entertainment world
Applicants shall meet the following requirements:
  • Two to three years' experience as a entertainment/general reporter
  • Must be highly self-motivated, be able to work independently and place a high premium on excellence
  • Proven writing skills
  • Keen interest in entertainment and current affairs
  • Must be able to produce work of high quality under tight deadline pressures
  • Post-matric qualification
  • A valid code 8 driver's licence
