FEATURED POET: Ahmed Akil -El Poet

As a spoken word artist, El poet’s ideas and content are all about diversity, speaking his mind on issues that are sensitive and usually neglected in today’s global society. As a Slam Africa Champion and the founder of flowtree.com, his focus is “Poetry 4 a Cause…Poetry 4 Money…Poetry 4 Life!” El poet is also involved within the media industry as a TV Producer, as well as an Online Marketing Strategist and Graphics Designer.

FEATURED ARTIST: Jemedari and Trifecta

Jemedari has laid stakes in various art form performances including Poetry and Hip Hop. Having been in this scene long enough to have matured in his performance, he possesses a fluid nature coupled with an ability to identify with audiences easily. He is considered amongst the few cross-over rappers in Kenya whose music is enjoyed by both young and old, and has become a respected artist whose counsel in writing and performance is sought by up and coming artists in the industry. His music speaks on matters of artists and their lives as well as the challenges they face. He is motivated by a deep passion to change the entertainment arena in Nairobi and refining the image of musicians across the board, focusing on Hip Hop artists. His end game is to start up a mentorship program through which talented youth with no avenues for their talent are guided by peers who have carved a niche for themselves.
