Job Vacancy: Business Editor at Innoviate (South Africa)

Innoviate is a media, research and events organisation specialising in marketing and Business Process Services and Offshoring (BPS&O) located in Randburg, South Africa.

We are looking for an experienced editor and journalist with knowledge and skills in writing and editing business publications/magazines, books and/or qualitative research reports. Suitable candidates will be required to work under pressure, be highly organised, efficient and self-motivated. You should have a strong background in business or trade journalism with the ability to interview, analyse, write, compile and edit in-depth B-2-B content.

Candidates are required to email their CVs PLUS samples of writing or writing portfolios for analysis before interviews are arranged.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience or skills in business or trade journalism and editing.
  • Ability to interview/research and write content from one-on-one interviews or statements from C-Level executives and knowledge leaders.
  • Degree or diploma in journalism
  • Portfolio of work with samples of journalism/writing/editing
  • Knowledge of writing/submitting content for social media platforms - Facebook, LinkedIn etc
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
ADVANTAGEOUS:
  • Research or analyst skills
  • Writing for marketing/contact centre/business process outsourcing (BPO)
  • Managing freelance writers/journalists
PERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES:
  • Excellent journalism/writing/editing skills with the ability to analyse, research and go "in-depth" with subject matter.
  • Self-motivated/driven with the confidence and people skills to interview C-Level executives.
  • Good work ethics and professionalism
  • Pay great attention to detail
  • Must be a good team player
