The successful applicants, one male, one female, may already be working as journalists or they may have no previous experience in the field.
They must be Libyan citizens, be Tripoli-based and will work at our offices there.
They will be given an induction course and then be put to work on stories, under the supervision of Libya Herald staff. There will be a further formal two-week training session in the middle of the internship.
At the end of the six months, if one or both applicants have demonstrated the necessary commitment to swift and accurate reporting of the facts, together with initiative and persistence, a full-time job may be offered on the Libya Herald.
Journalism is not a nine-to-five job. It requires dedication and hard work. The reward will not only be a thorough grounding in journalism but also a ring-side seat at the building of the New Libya.
Each intern will receive LD 625 a month.
