Have you ever been told you have a way with words? Enter our short story competition and stand a chance of having your story published in w&h.
HOW DO YOU ENTER?
- The theme is a brand new start, but the title you give your story is up to you.
- Submit your story of no more than 2 500 words, typed in double spacing on one side of each sheet of A4 paper.
- Number the pages and keep a copy, as we can’t return entries.
- Include a recent colour photograph (this also cannot be returned) and 200 words about yourself.
- You’ll need a separate coupon for each story. Photocopies of the coupon are not accepted.
- Attach the coupon, found on page 164 of the February 2013 issue, to the front of your entry and send it to: woman&home Short Story Competition, PO Box 47058, Parklands 2121.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Entries must be the author’s own work and previously unpublished. Entrants must not have had fiction published in any publication with a circulation of more than 5 000.
- Entries that are incomplete, illegible or not in English won’t be considered. No responsibility can be accepted for entries lost or delayed in the post or otherwise.
- The judges’ decision in all other matters will be final.
- No written or telephone criticism will be given; no correspondence will be entered into; entry implies acceptance of rules as legally binding.
- The competition is only open to SA residents aged 18 years and over, other than employees of Caxton CTP, the repro companies of woman&home and anyone connected with the operation of the competition.
- woman&home reserves the right not to award any of the prizes if the entries aren’t up to acceptable standards.
- woman&home reserves the right to publish the prize-winning entries as part of its editorial content. Winners will be notified and results published in a future edition of woman&home. No phone queries will be answered.
