Call for Poetry Submissions: Voices From Oja ‘ba Market (Nigeria)

The Society of Young Nigerian Writers, in collaboration with the Ibadan Book Club, is calling for entries for VOICES FROM OJA ‘BA MARKET, a poetry collection which will be published in both electronic and printed formats. This promises to be a medium of discovering and enhancing the creative writing skills of young writers in Oyo State. This call is for young writers residing in Oyo State between the ages of 15 and 35.

Oja ‘ba is a popular traditional market in Ibadan, the largest city in West Africa and the second largest city in Africa.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
  • Submitted poem(s) must reflect any of the following issues (politics, economic, culture, religion and Arts) in South Western States (Yoruba speaking states) e.g., Oyo, Ogun, Ekiti, Osun, Lagos, Ondo, Kogi, Ilorin.
  • One poem per entrant.
  • Entry(s) should include the following: Name, Age, State, Local Government, Address, Phone Number, Town, Where you heard about the Call for Entries, E-mail/Blog, Letter of Permission to publish your work.
  • This contest is only open to young writers between the ages of 15 and 35 from the six Yoruba speaking states of Nigeria e.g Oyo, Ogun, Ekiti, Osun, Lagos, Ondo, Kogi, Ilorin.
  • No room for late entries.
