Free Expression Institute Poetry Writing Competition | MK100,000 top prize | Malawi

Free Expression Institute would like announce the holding of a poetry writing competition for primary and secondary children/students aged between 8 and 18 years. Contestants will compete in a junior’s category for those aged 8-12 and senior category (13-18). The Free Expression Institute is also running a separate competition for the visually impaired. Contestants in this category do not necessarily have to be students.

Winners in each category will receive up to One Hundred Thousand Kwacha (MK100, 000-00). There will be other consolation prizes in form of cash and other assorted items. Winners in the students’ categories will receive individual awards, as well as awards for their respective schools.

If you can write a good poem and are interested in joining these competitions, please submit your entry to Free Expression Institute, P.O. Box P.O. Box 30575, Capital City, Lilongwe 3 or P/Bag 217, Lilongwe.

You can write on any subject in English or any language spoken in Malawi. Your entry must include your full name, state whether you are male or female and provide your current address and contact phone number. For those contesting in the students categories, your entries must also include the name and phone number of your headmaster or school teacher. All entries must be received by June 20, 2013.
