Call for Entries: The One Minutes Africa Awards 2011

The one minutes foundation promotes the creation, display and viewing of videos that last exactly sixty seconds. Together with partners across the world we organize an annual competition, workshops, festivals, assignments for artists, screenings, exhibitions and (digital) television broadcasts.

Call for entries. Join the first African One Minutes competition and send your contribution for the following categories:

  • Spoken word & sound: The art of language & sound
  • In my backyard: How is where you live
  • Where history begins: With real people in real places, history begins
  • Micro-commercials: Small companies run by passionate owners
  • Portraits: Your One Minute portrait
  • Privacy: Privacy and you

8 videos in each category will be nominated for an award. Prize winners will be invited to the awards ceremony hosted by the Town House Gallery in Cairo, Egypt, this coming September. Deadline for submissions: 15 July 2011
