Poet Avango Hosts Maun International Poetry Festival on March 26th

Poetavango Spoken Word Poetry is a poetry/storytelling collective and non-profit making poetry organization based in Botswana. In an attempt to contribute towards building a well-informed nation by 2016, the collective hosts free bi-monthly (every two months) poetry sessions at the Nhabe Museum. The collective believe so much in freedom of expression and that everyone has the right to articulate and be listened to. Spoken word (Poetry and storytelling) has the power to transform a people into a better nation. Poetavango is determined to positively change the nation, Africa and the world at large.

Maun International Poetry Festival, 2011

Poetavango presents the inaugural Maun International Poetry Festival on Saturday 26th March 2011. Tickets will be limited. Check their blog for more details on venue, ticket price, start and finish time, performers, and all the information you need.

Expected performers in the festival include Outspoken (Zimbabwe), Zwesh Fi Kush (South Africa), My Brother's Keeper (Zimbabwe), Dredd X (Botswana), TJ Dema (Botswana), Nomsa Mazwai (South Africa), among others.�
