Job Opening: InfoHub Editor/Curator for Re-Action (South Africa)

Responsibilities

•Author daily blog posts to update users on new developments within the InfoHub and to demonstrate the power of information to improve access to medicines. This should becomes a powerful narrative, drawing on anecdotes and examples of what others are doing in this area or through related initiatives, to inspire users to collect and use the InfoHub information and services.

•Manage the production of at least one new data product per week, in collaboration with both in-house and external design resources and the InfoHub data analyst.

•Manage the production of at least one special interest or technical blog article by a relevant subject matter expert per week, working with a range of mostly external collaborators.

•Moderate narrative content in the InfoHub website and communications through the InfoHub Mobile channel.

•Lead in finding new and smarter ways to improve our efforts to undertake pharmaceutical marketplace data collection, analysis and information dissemination.

•Manage the production of customised information products and services for specific events, such as technical working group meetings, training workshops and conferences.

•Engage a network of information specialists, moderate online discussions relating to specific technical topics or special interest groups.

•Continually offer thought-leadership and dependable execution in a high-paced environment.

Accountability

The INfoHub Editor will be accountable to the InfoHub Manager.

Posting

The post will be based in Cape Town, with occasional travel required.

Requirements

•Outstanding analytical and statistics skills.
•Qualifications in a quantitative field such as statistics, epidemiology; or public health, would be an asset.
•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions as well as capability in manipulating large data sets while maintaining data integrity.
•Ability to develop and choose data-driven stories.
•Candidates must have strong research, writing and editing skills.
•Proficiency in development of interactive graphics or web sites and knowledge of Processing (and Java) is a plus
•Experience in facilitating interface design and traditional information graphic design.
•Working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese would be an additional asset.
