JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT EDITOR: HIGHER EDUCATION

Oxford University Press Southern Africa invites applications for the above position in the higher education publishing division, based in Plattekloof, Cape Town.

The junior development editor will work alongside the publisher from the stage of conducting research, helping to ensure that the academic content and pedagogy for new textbooks or new editions are appropriate, thereby contributing profit to OUP SA's business results.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL POSSESS AND DEMONSTRATE THE ABILITY TO:

• Conduct market research
• Understand tertiary market requirements
• Initiate and maintain professional relationships with academics
• Think critically, and apply this analytical thinking to HE texts
• Oversee projects and groups of people
• Initiate and implement solutions to schedule, quality, and product problems
• Multi-task (projects).

Applicants should have a university degree such as a B.Comm, B.Arts, LLB, B.Iuris or any other relevant qualification, and be familiar with the tertiary education structure in South Africa. Willingness to travel within South Africa is an essential requirement.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and we offer 20 days annual leave, pension, medical aid, training opportunities, and rewarding work in a supportive environment.
