Cyclamens and Swords Publishing, influenced by the dichotomy of beauty and conflict that characterizes the world we live in, presents this site as an outlet and home for poets, writers and artists from all countries and outlooks. We publish three editions of our online magazine during the year at approximate four-monthly intervals.
Our next issue is a themed issue. The theme for submissions of poetry is HOME. Humorous and controversial submissions are welcomed.
EDITORIAL GUIDELINES: We try to present different voices, alternative points of view. We like to present writing from different cultures and continents (but only in English at present). Our major objective is to display writing of the highest quality.
POETRY:
- All submissions must be your own original work
- Only previously unpublished poems accepted
- Translations of living poets' poems are acceptable as long as the translations have not been previously published
- Maximum length - 60 lines
- Deadline for submission for next magazine - 15th November, 2012
- Genres (no restrictions)
- Up to 4 poems per submission
What to send: email entries only. Word or .rtf attachments only, no insertions in body of email will be accepted. Submit one single file containing all your poems. Each poem to be typed on a separate page. Include a contact page giving full contact information and a short bio (up to 7 lines). Please convert docx files to doc files before sending.
SHORT STORIES
- All submissions must be your own original work
- Only previously unpublished stories accepted
- Maximum length - 5000 words
- Deadline for submission for next magazine - 15th July, 2012
- No translations
- Genres (no restrictions)
- Only 1 story per submission please!

ART
- All submissions must be your own original work
- The Artwork section of our November 2012 issue will include a section dedicated to artistic photography.

What to send: email entries only. Submit three pieces of art or photographs in jpg format as attachment to email. If accepted we will ask for three more.
