New Deadline: 10 September 2012

So you’ve heard about the amazing opportunity to win a stylish career with ELLE and BlackBerry ®, yes? In case you’ve missed the buzz, the search is on for SA’s own Sartorialist or Face Hunter. ELLE and BlackBerry ® are looking for a style scout with a perfectly tuned instinct and eye for what’s new and noteworthy.

Want to report from the front row? We thought so. You’ve got till 10 September to enter.

Meanwhile, we asked our judges what they’d be looking for. Read on and make the most of their tips!
  • ELLE editor, Jackie Burger: ‘ELLE Style Reporter in association with BlackBerry® is possibly one of the most exciting career opportunities. It will afford a really cool hunter the opportunity to not just find and articulate a style aesthetic in South Africa but to contribute to what fashion is all about in our country.’
  • Chief judge and photographer Ed Suter: ‘We’re looking for someone with a clear point of view. There are many blogs around but we’re looking for the blogger who can bring his or her worldview to their blog. We’re looking for someone with his or her own ideas and opinions.’
  • ELLE Online editor Jenna McArthur: ‘What excites me about this search is that there is nothing like it nor has there ever been anything like it in South Africa. To have the opportunity to report from the front row and keep one’s finger on the fashion pulse as a career is exciting. It’s an opportunity for a passionate style scout to report on fashion with an opinion and with credibility.’
  • Ulanova Visser, marketing director: South & Southern Africa for BlackBerry®: ‘What is most exciting is how unique this competition is in that we are searching for someone that has defined him or herself. I would like to see authentic, original opinions of style and fashion trends in SA.
  • Christa Botha, Corporate Communications Manager for Sub-Sahara Africa at BlackBerry-maker, Research In Motion (RIM): ‘The most exciting part of this search is that it will help to identify and nurture new talent in the style reporting space. For the winner, it could be a stepping-stone to an amazing career, thanks to the exposure he or she will receive through ELLE as well as the technology and tools he or she will be given.’
SO WHAT’S TO WIN?

The winner will receive exposure in ELLE magazine as well as on the digital and social media platforms of ELLE and BlackBerry® plus a stipend of R10 000 per month. He or she will also be equipped with a BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet and BlackBerry® Bold™ 9790 smartphone to be able to do the job on the move. With BlackBerry® Bridge™ these devices can communicate and work together to help you work smarter.
