SUMMIT BACKGROUND
It is well said and believed that PEACE is the vital ingredient for a sustainable development of any country's economy. And where there is no peace, the economy of that particular country can never be developed. Nigeria, our great country has experienced various threats of peace which include the insecurity challenge faced by her. Everybody including the government and the citizens are worried about these challenges. The regular bombings and killing of people in this country has bothered all of us and we all are crying for a solution.
It is very unfortunate today that the enemies of peace have crippled into this country and if care is not taken, this insecurity challenges may turn our country Nigeria from a developing country to an under-developed country since this issue will scare investors away. But God will never let it happen to us. That is why we all must act now!
The fact is that these enemies of peace cannot be itemized by the government and her people because of lack of proof. They have succeeded in using some of the young people who are tagged the leaders of this country tomorrow to accomplish their evil tasks. If some of the youths who are the future leaders are involved in these tasks, what then is the future hope of Nigeria? But can we fold our hands and watch our great nation die? Should we sit down and watch our people be sent to their early graves? God Forbid!
This is the essence of this youth transformation campaign and summit which is aimed at itemizing the various roles and responsibilities of the young people in solving the insecurity challenges in the country today. With the available resource persons, we can conclude that this project is a welcomed development in this country in times like this and it will go a long way in bringing back Peace in Nigeria. One person cannot do it alone, we all must join hands and assist the government in solving this insecurity challenges today. We can do it.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES
a. SENSITIZATION CAMPAIGN: A sensitization campaign will be held from Wednesday 5th September, 2012 in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State with the use of the public address system and sharing of Stickers with the tag: YOU ARE THE CHANGE, NIGERIA NEEDS TODAY! This campaign will also cut across the four campuses of Ebonyi State University, the University Teaching Hospital and some selected Secondary Schools in the City.
b. THE YOUTH TRANSFORMATION SUMMIT: This summit will involve various youth organizations and groups across the country. And with the available resource persons, various ways will be itemized in which the young people can contribute to solve the insecurity challenges in the country today.

- Date: Thursday 6th September, 2012.
- Venue: Law Faculty Auditorium, CAS/LAW Campus of Ebonyi State
- University, Abakaliki.
- Time: 12pm - 4pm.
- Symposium: The state of our Nation today-What we need now! (Becoming the Change Nigeria Needs Today!)
- Talk 1: The Nigerian Youths-Who are we?
- Presentation of Awards to the 3 Winners of the C.M.C Annual Essay Competition.
- Drama centered on Change,
- Interactive Session with the resource persons.
- Talk 2: What the Young People can do to solve the insecurity challenges today in Nigeria.
This essay competition with the theme: Becoming the Change Nigeria Needs Today! And a Topic: As Nigeria is faced with Insecurity Challenges today, what can the Young People do to solve these challenges? is aimed at engaging the youths to provide positive ideas on how best to make Nigeria a better place of living for all. It is also geared towards getting the young people to participate in democracy and good governance. This competition is mapped out as part of C.M.C yearly anniversary celebration usually held on 17th of July every year.
