The 2nd Annual Intervarsity Spoken Mind Competition

Date: 29 September 2012

The Spoken Mind was birthed out of a blog on "Consciousness.co.za... It's a lifestyle" which is an African History and Arts Lifestyle magazine. What began as an auspicous blog to give poets, both known and unknown, a platform to yield their souls, their art and their stories became an iridescent home for spoken word. The writer, Matthew Mokoena, is intent on using the spoken word as a vehicle to awaken social change.

Spoken Mind will be hosting the 2nd Annual Intervarsity Spoken Mind Competition on 29 September 2012, at The Hub in Hatfield (corner Herold and Duxberry Road). This competition was preceded by 4 hotly contested rounds starting August 16th hosted by four PTA-based poetry movements - Unisa Poetry Society, University of Pretoria's Penseed Poets, etc.
