Can you judge a book, not by its cover, but by the first three paragraphs? It’s something most of us do when we browse a bookshop. Taking this as their dubious cue, Jo-Anne Richards and Richard Beynon will take a wild stab at predicting the winner – on the strength of the opening paragraphs of each book.

Have a bash at beating Richard and Jo-Anne at their game – take part in the Love Books sweepstakes and guess the winner. Join us for idle chat / erudite discussion / intense argument about this year’s Booker short list.
