Get inspired! Wake up your inner Dr. Seuss! This popular course is now running over 8 weeks to cover all the exciting aspects of writing for Children's TV.
The scope of the course: The Introduction to screenwriting for children course is designed to give writers new to the genre or beginner writers, an overview of writing for children’s TV shows. Desired Outcome of the course: At the end of four weeks students will
- Know the difference between writing for children and writing for adults
- Have an understanding of the various mediums available – animation, live action and magazine
- Understand the difference between entertainment, edutainment and educational content
- Understand the different age groups and their needs
- Understand the nature of storytelling for children as well as have a clear grasp of what is appropriate, and what is inappropriate for children
- Be able to write a synopsis, an outline / beat breakdown and a script at a basic level
