GRAZIA has a vacancy for a Beauty Editor, reporting to the Editor, in its Sandton office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conceptualise, plan and manage the beauty section in line with the editorial vision of GRAZIA each week
- Assume overall editorial responsibility and control of the beauty pages within each issue
- Understand and evolve the editorial vision for the title and translate this into the brand
- Interpret beauty trends and present them appropriately to the target market
- Clearly understand the reader by continually evaluating feedback and comments, while also monitoring, evaluating and implementing trends in global media
- Ensure that all copy is delivered within stipulated deadlines
- Represent GRAZIA and act as an ambassador of the brand when necessary
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key contacts in the industry
- Work with the advertising sales team where appropriate with regards to opportunities within the magazine
- Relevant tertiary qualification in journalism
- A sound editorial knowledge, including proficiency as a writer with strong editing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Well established network of contacts.
