Job Vacancy: Beauty Editor for Grazia (Sandton, South Africa)

GRAZIA has a vacancy for a Beauty Editor, reporting to the Editor, in its Sandton office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conceptualise, plan and manage the beauty section in line with the editorial vision of GRAZIA each week
  • Assume overall editorial responsibility and control of the beauty pages within each issue
  • Understand and evolve the editorial vision for the title and translate this into the brand
  • Interpret beauty trends and present them appropriately to the target market
  • Clearly understand the reader by continually evaluating feedback and comments, while also monitoring, evaluating and implementing trends in global media
  • Ensure that all copy is delivered within stipulated deadlines
  • Represent GRAZIA and act as an ambassador of the brand when necessary
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key contacts in the industry
  • Work with the advertising sales team where appropriate with regards to opportunities within the magazine
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in journalism
  • A sound editorial knowledge, including proficiency as a writer with strong editing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Well established network of contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Planning and organising skills
  • Sound judgement skills
