The MWEB connect division in Cape Town currently has a vacancy for a Content Editor who, reporting to the Senior Content Editor and will be responsible for creating and curating content for the MWEB portal. This includes the procurement and management of content from third parties.
The Content Editor will encourage and generate on-line interaction with the Brand through social media websites to generate customer engagement. The Content editor will also be responsible for creating and curating content for effective SEO onsite optimisation.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Proficient in English and Afrikaans, additional languages will be highly advantageous
- Must be an imaginative, passionate writer
- Online experience in social media and user generated content, response postings and blog postings
- Large network/connections on Social Media websites (Twitter, Facebook and My Space etc)
- Good understanding of SEO
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Pro-activity and initiative
- Problem solving skills
- Detail minded, results oriented
- Will be responsible for creating and curating content for MWEB
- Perform copy editing on new and existing websites (internal and external)
- Read and evaluate online community mentions that are related to MWEB
- Responsible for increasing on-line visibility, increasing traffic to websites and increase memberships to MWEB’s social media pages
- Encourage, entice and generate on-line interaction with the Brand through social media websites including Facebook, MySpace, Twitter LinkedIn, forums, blogs, etc) to generate customer engagement with the MWEB Brand
- Designing and implementing activities on the sites: ideation sessions, brainstorms, polls and surveys, blogs, Live Jams etc.
- Monitor and report back on social media tools, trends and applications.
- Writing interesting blog / content entries and respond to comments on your blog / content entries
- Ensure product information is correctly displayed
- Monitor daily updates of content and delivery from 3rd party content providers
- Provide reports for internal key stakeholders
- Adhere to communication style and response times
- Monitor public sites for comments on the company or the Brand that may be negative or damaging to the Brand, report to relevant parties and address accordingly
- Relevant tertiary qualification preferable plus 2 years’ experience copy editing on consumer-oriented websites and social media websites
- Experience with Social Media and Online reputation management advantageous
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
- Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator and PowerPoint
- Candidates must have solid understanding of the mobile and internet products and markets and passionate about social media.
- Excellent language ability and proven writing skills
