Job Vacancy: Regional News Reporter for Uganda Picks

Uganda Picks is seeking three news reporters to cover news in the Eastern, Western and Central regions. The three applicants should be energetic and passionate about covering local news ranging from general news, political news, business news, regional news, niche-oriented news (health, science, technology), crime and sensational stories. The company values venturesome reporting and response to breaking news.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in journalism or related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of journalism experience for online multimedia
SKILLS:
  • Strong organizational and writing skills, as well as the ability to work independently and in collaboration with staff
  • Ability to react to and post breaking news quickly and accurately.
  • Deadline and detail oriented (must understand the standards of real-time news and be able to work under pressure when necessary)
  • With online and social media know-how.
